Announcing Curse of the Herder

Announcing “Curse of the Herder”, a screensaver experience for the web. It’s about a pissed-off little herder learning how to cuss better.

The cursed herder crossing the countryside, carrying sheep and muttering as he works

A Cursed Working Day

Every run is a ‘day’. Your herder starts out ignorant of the world, and of how to express themself. They are frustrated. They have to go collect all 60 of their sheep from the island. As they collect sheep and face frustration, their temper changes. They read books from little free libraries around the island. This is how they learn new cuss words and phrases.

The herder carries a sheep along a country road while delivering a newly elaborate curse

A Living Countryside

Changing weather, seasons, other herders, little villages, small delighters. A fun little island of frustation.

A village with cottages, a little free library, and a sheep stranded on a roof

The village in winter with snow, grey trees, washing lines, and scarecrows

The End of the Day

After the last sheep is herded, the herder may retire to the hall of heroes, where their statistic and best curses are recorded.

At dusk the last sheep is penned and the retiring herder's memorial stone rises beside the pen
