Steam Game Review #2: Rag Doll Kung Fu

I recall when Half Life 2 Stream distribution was announced, there was a free bundle game included. Rag Doll Kung Fu was that bundled game. It was the first independent game, years before Desura, a herald of things to come.

NDS Emulator DraStic Raises the Emulation Bar Very, Very High

This isn’t a game review as much as a software review. As “DraStic” is for playing DS games (only responsibly copied games from your own collection), I’m categorizing this under ‘game reviews’. As many of my longtime readers will recall, I went to grad school almost a decade ago. That’s common knowledge. What I don’t think I’ve mentioned before is that this particular emulator developer was my project partner, friend, and research lab co-worker back in the day.

Indie Game Review #1: 8-Bit Commando

I have absolutely no recollection as to how I acquired 8-Bit Commando. I assume it must have been through one of the Humble/Indie/Mega/Ultra bundles which have become so popular. I’m a sucker for a good bundle, especially if it supports indie developers. That’s also why I installed Desura. Challenge Accepted! 10 Years of Steam and 1000 Game Reviews

It’s no secret that I’ve a love for games. I’ve also got a soft spot for a hot deal. Put these two facts together and you’ve got the perfect storm of game-collecting furor made reality in the Steam platform. With my Steam game list now creeping past the 800 mark, I’ve decided that it’s time to put my mouth where my money is and put this huge collection of games to use. I’m going to review every one of my Steam and Desura games in chronological order, starting at the first steam game to be released all the way to games I picked up in the 2013 summer sale last week.  I’ll not leave out any wart-covered toads, nor any big-name blockbuster releases.  Everything gets reviewed, in order.

Using Timeline.JS To Make A Timeline From Your Resume

As soon as I saw Timeline.JS I knew what had to be done. I had to take my existing Impress.JS resume, and make a Timeline.JS version. It’s actually quite simple. You just copy this Google spreadsheet template, and fill in your data. The JS generates the timeline from that. You can see the spreadsheet I used to generate the timeline here.
